second paragraph, first sentence of the statement above. "traditionally the city paid the total cost..."
Scott Delea made the statement. he is a trustee of the B&Gclubs of hudson county. there is a fund raiser to augment the lack of funds this year from thr city of hoboken.
whet the F don't you get? the city of hoboken takes my F'g tax money to support a charity. this is NOT legal. this is NOT what my taxes are supposed to go towards. i see ANOTHER lawsuit against the city coming. here's more news for you people; A CITY IS NOT A PRIVATE BUSINESS MEANT TO BENEFIT THE FRIENDS/COUSINS OF OLD CORRUPT BNR'S.
you guys know the words right? let's hear it;
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin for to carry me home
swing low, sweet chariot
comin for to carry me hoooooooooome.

Your taxes havn't been going to an independent charity. It is a community pool. The city needed a location to put it. The B&G club agreed to have it on their property - there was room in the parking lot. There was another one at Wallace school, but it disappeared. I belive it costs about $10K to run including liability insurance, lifeguards, and maintenance for about 7 weeks.</div><!--end reply-->

$10k dollars for a 4 foot deep alum above ground pool parked on some blacktop. now tell me again how much you think it costs to run an olympic sized community pool? you people are crazy, this town has NO money. flat broke and busted! doubled property taxes!
and why exactly have my taxes been going to an independent charity in the past? i'm not paying my property taxes to subsidize a pool for a charity! i contribute to the charities I choose, not those that city hall chooses!
this F'ng town is run as a private fund for the ghetto.

What kind of "portion" are they donating? Might be better to donate directly and cut out the middle man especially if it's a minimal "portion".
