Dentist Frank DePaola at Maxwell Place

Children’s Dentistry of Hoboken moves to Maxwell Place

10/20/2011 Update:

Dr. Frank DePaola originally had a dentistry office at 1209 Hudson Street. He then “expanded” to a second location at Maxwell Place back in 2009, and his original office became the Children’s Dentistry of Hoboken with Pediatric Dentist Dr. Jenny Paik.

It appears that two locations were overkill (in this economy), and now the Children’s office has merged with the Maxwell Place location.

Looks like another empty storefront!

You can reach the Children’s Dentistry of Hoboken at (201)710-5300 – and Dr. DePaola at (201)792-9400.

Hoboken Mashup: Real Estate vs. Dentistry

4/15/2010 Update:

Nearly a year after announcement, Dr. Frank DePaola finally opened his doors at the über-upscale Maxwell Place waterfront location recently!

Hoboken411 reader Julie asked “Isn’t a dental practice supposed to be private? The last thing I’d want, regardless of the “stunning NYC views” that realtors utter in practically ever listing they have, is for everyone to see me sitting there with my mouth wide open, bleeding, drooling and more! Does this dentist need to be such a show-off?”

[411 NOTE: On Friday April 23rd, 2010- Dr. DePaola and his lawyer emailed Hoboken411, upset that a photo was posted (which was taken from a public sidewalk). They wanted it removed citing “There is an image of myself with a patient and my assistant inside my office posted on your site. The picture was taken from outside looking in and must have required holding the camera up high to provide a sight line for the image taken. It is an invasion of privacy and slander and would like the entire post and image removed immediately. We do have temporary shades installed for privacy as we await final install of window treatments this Monday.” ]

Well respected dentist Frank DePaola, who currently has an office at 1209 Hudson Street, is opening an “Exclusive” second location at Maxwell Place! A whopping block away from his current place!

Looks like they hope to open “Winter 2009.”

Never see this dentist. Dr. Depaola’s office is not honest. I have been fighting with them for months with regards to claims that are supposed to be submitted to my insurance. Yes, he doesn’t take insurance, but they claim they will submitted your claim and “take care of it for you”. After months of saying yes they submitted it or we made a mistake nothing. My insurance has never received anything from them. If I could I would take back my payment.

Also Dr. Depaola gives you a hard sell for things you do not need. I recommend finding another dentist. Stay away. Tell your friends to stay away.

So I went to Dr. Patricia Lynch on 4th st a few weeks ago. She confirmed what I suspected. It is completely unnecessary to get crowns on my old fillings, as Dr. Depaola had insisted. She simply replaced the old leaky metal filings with white fillings…she was in and out in 20 minutes, did a fantastic job, and was very sensitive to my dentist-phobia. She gave me extra novacaine and I didnt feel a thing. So happy I found her!! Suck it, Dr. Depaola….

Thanks to Dr. DePaola and his lawyer for confirming I should never use his practice. Sending a threatening letter to Hoboken411 was lame. I walk by his new office frequently. It’s beautiful and clearly designed to be seen from the outside. He’s showing off by keeping the windows clear so everyone walking by can see his shiny new equipment. Some of the dentist chairs are only a couple feet from the open windows. His comments about “invasion of privacy” and “slander” are a joke to anyone who walks by the place.

I think 411 did the right thing by removing the picture. That’s fair. Even though the photo was taken from a public sidewalk, I wouldn’t want to find myself in such a picture on a blog.

But it’s obvious why the dentist wanted you to eliminate the entire thread – and not just take out the picture. Removing the thread is getting into the freedom of speech thing…

I agree. Customer BEWARE!… Dr. Depaola Jr. is not an ethical dentist. The sad thing is, we have this perverse nature to trust that our dentist is doing right for our oral health, and that he’s not just padding his pockets so he can afford a ridiculous office space. At the very least, he should accept insurance if he’s going to bend me over the counter when I get the bill for unnecessary work.
yuppie a-holes in this town really crack me up! who the hell cares about the f’ing view while you’re at the dentist? holy sh*t people! and this “dentist” sounds like all the other quack “dentists” in this town. i never had a cavity in my life, yet went to that dentist on 3rd and bloom, told me i had about 4 cavities and wanted to give me flouride treatments. um, you give babies floride treaments!!…went back to my old dentist and he gave me a clean bill of health…these dentists have no shame or morals…unbelieveable
