Hobokenpix: Nancy’s Hot Dogs!

[Continuing the ORIGINAL Hoboken411 “Photo of the Day” series…]

Hoboken Photo of the Day – 6/16/2009

Residents in the area of 11th and Washington are in for a big treat this summer!

Nancy (who used to have her hot dog cart on 14th street) – has now setup shop on 11th and Washington! On her first day yesterday, residents were lining up to get her tasty dogs, which she says “are cooked perfectly – they snap in your mouth!” Perfect recession (and gut) busters, these addictive Sabretts only cost $1.25 (more for fancy toppings like onions, home made chili, potato sticks & cheese).

11th Street Crossing Guard Margaret said “these are the best onions anywhere!” as she tried giving the Hoboken411 Mascot Oscar a piece of the dog (he doesn’t like eating his own kind..)

A personal trainer when she’s not doling out the ‘dogs, Nancy is a fantastic, upbeat person to speak with, and can lighten your mood regardless of how bad your day was… “My conversation is always no charge!”

PS – if you have images collecting dust on your camera or hard drive – send them in for eventual inclusion on Hoboken411! Please state how you’d like to be credited in your email, and a description – if desired!!

As far as getting a hotdog stand, ask Nancy yourself. On a side note, even if is was true that Nancy’s brothers assisted her in getting her hotdog stand, what does that have to do with Nancy performing in a 80’s rock band.

Ok all, I’ve read all of the comment on here and most of them are positive and true as far as Nancy being the sweet, nice, considerate, well liked person. She is well liked not because of her two police officer brothers, (who as well are nice people) but because of her own self being. I’ve known Nancy since high school and have been a customer of hers for so many years now. I’ve missed her hotdog stand the past two years as well as many other people who bought hotdog from her for many years. She has been kind to all sorts of people, she caters to the senior citizens, she serves with a smile no matter how good or bad her day is going. She treats people with respect and expects some respect back. Some of the comments above were uncalled for and need not be said. Nancy, had her hotdog stand for over 10 years and worked for her mom prior to starting her own business. Her brothers had nothing to do with Nancy getting her own stand. She got it with alot of hard work and experience from working with her mother. As far as the comment about her time spent in a rock band, this just goes to show you that she is a well rounded person with a singing talent and comments made about her earlier days are just jealousy from people that are so limited in what life has to offer them. I knew Nancy since she was a singer in my friends band and was making subs @ Mr. Bigs. She has always been down to earth. I also grew up with both her brothers and both are the nicest guys you could ever meet. Back in the 90’s she was selling Hot Dog Girl Posters after the Hoboken Reporter did a story on her. Again nice people!

Anyone remember the guy on 13th and Willow? Hey mister how much is a 25 cent hotdog? He would throw a can of sauerkraut at you! We would break his balls all summer long.
