In my triumphant return to posting..I will say this…Hoboken politics is as corrupt as typical democrat machines throughout the country. Chicago being the “ground zero” for corruption and who comes out of that machine?? Our Savior and failure of a president Barrack Obama. Don’t get me started on this useless Jimmy Carter type..I was elated to not be able to vote after thinking it through. I was out of town unexpectedly and dreaded choosing 1 useless democrat over another. I am so sad at the fact that I live in a state where so many people are so stupid that they keep voting in democrat after democrat. This state, because of typical useless democrat policy, is one of the worst in the country. Our taxes are ridiculous. Car insurance is ridiculous. Property taxes are ridiculous…Need I go on further? The only time I can remember where things got done was when Chritie Todd Whitman was in office. Other than that I cannot remember anyone that has done anything for our state except tax the crap out of us..Hoboken is no different. Criminal after criminal has run this town and now we are forced to live with this mismanagement. I don’t believe either candidate. I think that anyone that has voted for Obama and preaches fiscal responsibility is as retarded as an arsonist teaching fire prevention classes.

Uh – who pays more taxes so that building can pay next to nothing? Answer – THE REST OF US. It is absolutely taxpayer subsidized. Do they use the schools, the roads, the PD, the FD, the cross town bus (when it existed) or any other city service? You bet they do. They are subsidized because we pay their share of the tax burden. Stop pretending otherwise because you know you are full of it on this one. They not only don’t pay anywhere near it costs to provide city services to them, they pay something like 1/8th of what newer PILOT buildings pay on a per unit basis. At least those buildings probably pay their fair share of the burden (and expire – lets not forget the fact those PILOTS actually will expire in less than a generation, not still keep ticking after 2)

I would argue that so long as someone lives off of our tax dollars (as a resident in a taxpayer funded building or city employee), the taxpayers have every right to question your right to our tax dollars. You can do what you want when you aren’t being paid a salary by me. But I pay your salary, your rent, your food stamps or give you money in any other form, then I and every other taxpayer have every right to question whether our money is being used wisely. And in Hoboken, clearly that isn’t being done, not when a well run town could provide equal services w/ a budget a good 40-50% less than the current one.

Doesn't change the fact that you can't justify giving people who make good money a handout. Same as you can't justify hiring folks based on who they are related to, on who their best friend in HS was, on how much money they donated or b/c you just need more folks on the payroll to buy more votes. If you accept any of that stuff, you accept corruption. I don't accept corruption - I see ALL of that as nothing more than theft. It may be legalized theft, but it is unethical as hell - and probably a quick way to insure you head there in the afterlife. Pretty much violating commandment #8 if you willingly take part in any of the above (as a beneficiary or if you are the one granting these favors)........though I am sure the folks on the gravy train don't see it that way.
