i am the “I (heart) NJ” – and YES – i do show it with pride elsewhere. I always dream of the day a turnpike tollperson allows me free passage for my declaration of affection to the state….

Anyone that gets a Jersey Tattoo is an idiot period….it is like getting an armpit tattoo or a tattoo of the state directly inside your pit!

I’m surprised someone that is apparently so proud to be born and “razed” [sp?] in hoboken is ashamed of their home state.

to each his own.some people have some great art work along with some real meaningful tatoos who am i to really judge, but to the people who have put tatoos in plain site and that they look like they were done by either a 7 year old or a crack head thats something ill critize.also if u have the money to remove if it comes to that good for you if not, god bless you can live to ripe old age but thats not something that is going to look as good as it did on day 1

Don’t be that surprised my frind, the Hoboken I once knew and loved has become a pit of corruption and nepotism like never before seen ever in this entire country! The same can be said about the state as a whole and to make my point just take a look at all the state politicians that “uh hum…reside in Hoboken”. By no means am I proud of this town or the state for that matter.

Born and live in NJ all my life but the way I see NJ now is what I call ” The Arm Pit of America “..
Look at the US map, the phrase fits perfectly…..

I have lived in MA, IL, MD, VA and now NJ so I think I am going to get all those state flags stacked on my upper arm, like the certification patches at Jiffy Lube.
On the other arm, I am going to get the flags of the 18 countries I have visited…with room for expansion.
I am also really into cars, so I think up my neck, a la Henry Rollins, I will get all the emblems of the brands I have owned.
On my ankle, I am going to have the badge numbers from my different jobs.
I think on my right calf I will just list some things I really like (my Ipod, Costco, Red Bull, ebay, and my new blue hoodie).
I couldn’t forget my pooches, so on each hand, I will get their names across my knuckles.
For the right price, I will get HOBOKEN 411 in script like the Sublime dude across my back.
If I see anyone else who steals these ideas before I get my ink, I am SO calling you out!

When I hear co-workers, typically from LI, bash NJ I tend to join in. Not that I agree with them but because I want to reinforce anti-NJ myths and/or stereotypes where ever I go. Cancer? Yes. Pollution? Well of course. Bad roads? Check. Guidos? That speaks for itself.
New Yorkers, and especially LIers, are a strange breed. They bash and bash and bash NJ, pausing only long enough to move here.
NJ is too crowded as it is. So NJers: it’s your civic duty and moral obligation to discourage in-migration. NJ bashing helps. If you have other methods and ideas so much the better.
Sorry to hijack.

Once this obnoxious skank from Texas made the same comment to me when she asked where I lived, “Ugh Nuuuu JURRRZEEE? It’s tha armpit uv Ahmericuh”.
To which I replied: “Then that makes Texas the taint”
The look on ‘lil miss Texass’s face, priceless.

Thank you. That bit was awesome. Basically people in LI just need to STFU already. Jersey and LI are basically the same in a lot of ways.
