Runoff Election Live Blog!

11:35pm Update:

SEE WARD RESULTS BELOW…

Preliminary results: Cammarano in lead

hoboken-2009-runoff-election-results-thumbAfter the absentee ballots, Peter Cammarano holds a slim 67 vote lead over Dawn Zimmer. However, the “final” results won’t be realized until tomorrow, as nearly 100 provisional ballots haven’t been counted, along with challenged absentees.
Gosh – I was hoping this election would be over tonight.

Anyway, here’s the total tallies up to now, for both the Mayoral and Council candidates. It’s very likely that Zimmer’s council slate swept the race.

Mayor:
Peter Cammarano: 6043
Dawn Zimmer: 5976

At-Large:
Ravi Bhalla: 5810
Carol Marsh: 5803
Dave Mello: 5597
Vinny Addeo: 5437
Raul Morales: 5305
Angel Alicea: 5302

10:53pm Update:

May not know final results till tomorrow

There’s a good chance that the final absentee, provisional and military ballots will not be counted until tomorrow morning.

If that changes, I’ll update here accordingly.

10:25pm Update:

Machine Count (for Mayor):
Zimmer: 5,786
Cammarano: 5,542

Still left – 775 Absentee ballots to be counted.

Also something for zimmer and her supporters. How much money was paid to employees who you sat and worked with you during this election and stuck it to you , thats selfish and disguting playing both sides for some cash, most of them are people within the workforce who are a good part of the problem.all in all the volunteers you put the time in and you did a great job in working for what you want, but you were played at a pretty penny and should be pissed at that as much as the end game.to end some real ardent zimmer supporters who were vocally against some employees and how they do there job sat there laughing having a good time those people stuck a ax in ur back.i do not like politics i like a majority council against the mayor and i want to be an opptimist..so ill take my shots here on this board…good luck and health to all

Cammarano has an oppourtunity to make all his non supporters have confidence in him wether its through positive planning or a watchdog council.this is just the tip of the iceberg but no one employee deserves a single dime from a contractual raise and if they do not like it then tough, the economy is still in shambles if the city employee can not see that then the word selfish rains true and you’ll see who they are in time. after that employees who serve no purpose or cant do what is required need to go…thats just the begining other points will be made here i just listed two of the easier ones.

Um, if there is douchiness involved in the “voting” process, this year, I feel really sorry for the person who’s accumulating all of this nasty karma– as we know, it is a bitch.

It would be funny to see if they fingerprinted absentee ballots, the part where you check off who you are voting for. I wonder how many would even have the actual voter’s prints on them.

Of the 79 “found” absentee ballots, 63 were Cammarano and 15 were Zimmer (1 no-vote).

Shocker.
