Fun with Election Maps

5/20/2009:

Hoboken411 contributor extraordinaire estevens whipped together a bunch of Google Maps for you to toy around with.

Comparing 2005 runoff to 2009 first ballot

2005:
[Key: Roberts carried the red districts, Marsh the green. Darker shades of color indicate increased margins of victory.]

2009:
[Key: Zimmer in green, Mason in purple, and Cammarano in red.]

2009 Vote Tallies

“I think this map shows how limited Cammarano’s support is, geographically. His heaviest support – as I’d imagine – comes from Church Towers, Clock Towers, and the Housing Authority. In 1993, Russo lost Wards 1,2,5, and 6 but won 3 and 4 big enough to win the city. I’ve been interested in the geographical scheme of things ever since.”

Vote Color Code:
000-100 Lavender
101-200 Blue
201-300 Green
301-400 Yellow
401-500 Orange
501-600 Red

Dawn needs to have some watchful eyes in 4-4. She should have lawyers on site there the entire day. Belfiore/fitzgibbons/swibinski and company are going to be busing em into that polling place on June 9th. If i where her i would jam pack the 4th ward with green. She can win 1,2,5,6 without doing much at all…

“prove themselves” WTF is wrong with you people? prove what? that we can pay taxes? ok, we do that. how about you? you BNR’s are suffering under some kind of delusion that you have done something of some merit. yea, you covered up arson and oversaw the decline of the city. bravo. now pay your share or move out of the way.

State Dem Party has already said they are sending in the troops for Cammarano…I doubt Healy (HCDO) is going against them.

she supports pete but i was talking about her “grits and gravy” comment. twenty five years ago newcomers were treated with less respect by b and r’s and the people that stayed had to prove themselves to the community, not just spout their opinions on an internet bulletin board.

I know what you are referring to. She thinks that because she was here for the tough times, she gets to decide who gets the gravy. I personally believe NOBODY deserves gravy. The city doesn’t exist so that people can mooch off of some residents, it exists to provide basic services to ALL residents at the lowest possible cost. (by the way – pretty sure Margaret admitted)

That being said, why anyone thinks they deserve special treatment purely because they were alive & in town when most of us were playing kickball in some other town is beyond me. You deserve what you can pay for, and if you can’t pay for what you think you deserve then go get a better job that pays you more…….period, end of story.

I don’t think we are at all misinterpreting what she meant. It is pretty clear she only supports Petey b/c he won’t be cutting the budget all that much. That is the gravy she cares about.
