Video: Fiore’s Mozzarella!

5/20/2009:

You getting hungry?

Hoboken’s Fiore’s Deli (414 Adams Street) was recently featured on an LXTV segment about the NYC area’s best Italian food.

Why Fiore’s? Well – the mozzarella, of course!

Whether they use rubber gloves, bare hands, or HazMat suits, I could eat their roast beef sandwich everyday.

To Easy E: I didn’t say gloves were designed to protect the wearer’s hands, I said they do that more than they protect you. Non-glove wearers will wash hands more frequently than glove wearers would change gloves. With the gloves on you don’t get the sensation of touching something unsanitary. The latex variety are not easy to put on or remove and the tendency is to keep them on and move from task to task. The exception is those very loose-fitting gloves that tend to slide off if you do more with them than just simple food serving. A place with a well stocked (soap & paper towels) hand washing sink in the food serving area is my preference.

“Gloves protect the wearer’s hands…”

Well, you must have meant to write something else, but that’s what you said, I simply copied it from your post.

Well if the filth’s up front, at least you have an idea of what you’re getting yourself into. I’m sure Irish will back me up on this one: some of the walk-ins in the most dazzling restaurants are beyond disgusting.

So, the next time you roll into your favorite, clean and modern restaurant keep that in the back of your mind: clean exterior…but what lurks in the back? The truth may shock you.

And I’ll go on record as saying that some of the best food I’ve ever eaten has come from nasty little shacks – in spite of an iffy constitution.

i will agree with other comments here. i don’t know what the attraction is for fiori mozz…seemed kinda dry last time i had it. even lucabrazzi’s mozz is better.

When I think of Fiore’s the word that comes to mind is OVERRATED…Have to agree w/ the last two posts..Vito’s is the best and as I always thought Fiore’s attitude sucks..explains why I havent been there in several years. The last time I was there was no prices posted anywhere…I dont like having to guess what the price of a sandwich is..I will wait in line for Vito’s & MP’s before I go to Fiores..
