$1 Slice Returns to NYC for City Harvest Fundraiser

“You can still get a $1 slice in New York, but the reduced price tag often requires compromised quality.

All of that will change on Thursday, May 21 from 7 to 9 PM. Pizza enthusiast Scott Wiener (of Scott’s Pizza Tours) is teaming up with travel agency GAP Adventures (364 Ave. of Americas – MAP – near the Christopher St. PATH station) for a fundraiser that will offer slices of the city’s top pizzerias for $1 each. Classic pizzerias like Lombardi’s, John’s of Bleecker and Joe’s are donating pies for the occasion, as well as prizes to be raffled at the end of the night. All proceeds will benefit City Harvest.”

About

City Harvest became the world’s first food rescue organization in 1982 and continues to feed 260,000 people every week.

GAP Adventures provides travel services to those looking for uncommon trips to exotic locales. Their weekly event series takes place every Thursday night and highlights travel-related activities.

Scott’s Pizza Tours conducts tours of New York’s vast pizza landscape by bus and on foot. The company is celebrating its 1st anniversary with this fundraiser.

There’s a place in Chelsea (I think 6th ave between 18 and 19th) called something Brothers… they offer $1 slice, and it’s very tasty

I know the place you’re talking about, I used to work near there. I went a few times over this past winter, once it was surprisingly good for a buck, but then another time it was cold and another time there was hardly any cheese on the slice. People were sending theirs back b/c of the no cheese, was just like toasted dough…I never went back.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones. I only had it once. I was shopping around there and needed a snack, that $1 piece was really good, not too greasy not too dry.
