Cat found on Monroe Street

Hoboken411 reader Jessica found a grey tabby cat on Monroe Street between 3rd and 4th today. “We found her today on Monroe Street between 3rd & 4th Streets about 7pm. It’s a girl, she appears to be around 6 months or more. She is friendly. It appears that she hasn’t eaten in days and is very thin.”

If you believe this is yours – or at the very least, would like to adopt her if no owner comes forward – email Hoboken411@gmail.com so I can put you in touch!

Want to adopt “Gizmo?”

Hoboken411 reader Jill tried to give Gizmo a home – but realized that her travel schedule for work (and existing dog incompatibilities), she can no longer do it.

(NOTE: Before you bash anyone for being irresponsible (it happens each time a story like this goes up) – give her some credit for trying, and be thankful the dog isn’t going to some disgusting shelter)

“Gizmo is a 6 month old male Morkie (maltese yorkie) and he needs a good home! He is all up to date with his shots and has also been neutered. He is a sweet quiet dog and loves to cuddle and play.

Gizmo was sold to me by his former owners because they could not take care of him due to family illness-I wanted to give him a good home but with my other dog and travel schedule – i don’t think i can do it. I am asking for $50 for the dog. He comes with a crate, his blankie and all of his papers.

If you think you can give him a good, loving home contact me via email jillsabato@aol.com.”

I was mistaken, the cat on the missing posters was found. I spoke with the woman at Cornerstone she stated that you could check with Liberty Humane and the Animal Hospital in town. She also stated that if you can not keep the cat that they will post adoption in the store.

Hi, This is Jessica. We still have the kitty cat, and have had no success in finding her owner. We would like her to be adopted, as we cannot keep her here at our apartment. Anyone out there interested?

All the best.

Jessica what is this kitty’s personality like? Is she becoming a house cat now? I’ve been thinking of getting a pet but I need to be 100% sure its a huge commitment for both myself and the kitty..

Hey!

This is Jill. I put up the posting for Gizmo on friday night.

Just want to thank you everyone that responded to this posting. Seems like there are so many great homes out there for pets that need a loving family.

I’m happy to say I found Giz a great new home with a close friend’s parents. It was sad parting with him but i am confident he is in good hands and will have a happy life, with lots of love, affection, and attention.

Thanks to all!
J

The cat looks like one that was on missing posters in my neighborhood about two months ago. I haven’t seen the posters in a while. I’ll stop by cornerstone today and ask them, I believe they also had a poster up for the missing cat.

Great thinking! And thanks, 411, for offering this venue for helping these dear ones! You do the companion animal community a great service!
