5/28/2009 Update:
Any Day Now…
The owners of Marisa’s Pizza – Hoboken’s newest Pizza Parlor – are getting very close to opening up. Unsure of the exact date, they hope as soon as Friday!
PS – I asked if Rome Pizzeria was upset about this too – they said no, because it’s just another brick and mortar business, and it’s ok.
(PS – originally thought it was “Marissa’s” with two s’s – but their menu lists ONE s)

I tried this place recently, and must say it was fantastic. The prices were not too high, but expected prices for the time period we live in now. Scenery was great, and the service was outstanding. I think instead of criticizing new places that are opening up in Hoboken, maybe we should all be welcoming them into our city. GOOD LUCK Marisa’s!

Saw that this place had opened up in the old Quizno’s spot and thought I’d give it a try, so my wife and I ordered this past Friday. We called at 6PM and ordered a salad, garlic knots and a large pizza with black olives. We were told the pizza would be there in about 40 minutes. An hour later, the pizza had still not arrived. I called and had to speak to two different people to find out where the order was. Finally, seventy-five minutes after ordering (almost twice as long as they had told me), the pizza arrived; the guy was nice, but didn’t apologize for us being his last stop on what must have been a long delivery run. The pizza box felt cold to the touch, and the pizza itself was room temperature. The garlic knots were good, but were also cold (they also looked more like mini crescent rolls rather than knots). The salad was okay, but was drenched in oil. The pizza also had only a handful of olives, all of which were in the center of the pie. The pizza tasted okay, but the crust wasn’t terribly flavorful on its own, and was kind of hard. Needless to say, we won’t be ordering from Marisa’s again any time soon; the pizza was average and the customer service was below average.
