When you deal with a possible EDP you want all the back up you can get.These situations can go bad and get out of control very fast so there is strength in numbers.

i have had zero encounters with the police in my 9 years in hoboken – but only ONCE in those 9 years did i see an actual beat cop walking around town. in a town where everyone walks, i simply do not understand why we don’t have beat cops.

Read between the lines of what, the bars on the windows of your short bus? A kid won’t get traumatized by seeing a naked hand on naked genitals if you don’t make a big deal about it in front of them, and just agree with them that yes, that man should not be doing that here, let’s not go near him, and then you call the cops if you suspect from his actions that he’s more than scratching his scabby crotch. It’s not *good* for them to see it, but it’s not the most terrible thing they can see… after all, they can watch big dogs with big genitals peeing and humping in the dog run a few feet away!

The point is that the whole reason the cops are there is to keep everyone’s precious snowflakes from getting horrified and traumatized, and to only send 2 cops when you can send 6 and thus avoid a much more horrifying and traumatizing scene would be forgetting why they are there. My point was that the dispatcher and the cops handled this exactly correctly and overdid nothing.
