Obama’s First 100

A couple readers asked to create this talking point about President Obama’s first 100 days in office.

The general sentiment was (and directed at Obama supporters primarily)….

He talks a nice game, but when push comes to shove he caves. I could give many examples of this. But you either follow things in detail and know this or you get your news at 6pm or from local/mainstream media.

In order to try and make everyone happy he ends up standing for nothing and because lobbists and corps have the most money with access (and can therefore shout the loudest)they will get most of what they want. I will get very little of the things that were the reasons I voted for him.

I will add that I think that was the plan all along. The powers that be realized they needed someone who could talk the talk, but be trusted not to walk the walk in the end. That’s what we have.

Had an interesting dinner conversation with an Obama supporter who raised millions for his campaign.

Two questions I posed.

1) When Obama escalates the war against goat herders in pipelinestan what will you think then?

2) What do you think will happen if there are now going to be enormous tax increases to go with an budget deficit of say 25% of GDP to support their programs?

Answer was along as it is anyone but Bush then it okay.

Translation – I don’t mind getting screwed without the vaseline as long as it is my guy.

Choose your poison folks the ending of tragedy is still the same.

That’s right, let’s go back to those fiscally prudent Republicans! We need to spend like drunken sailors while cutting taxes and putting expenditures for hugely expensive, unnecessary wars “off balance sheet”. Geez if only Dubya could have gotten another term…

Your guy’s fiscal prudence in action.

Me thinks he would be underwater on his mortgage and probably be turning the keys over to the bank had he not been elected to office. The man was a about as fiscally responsible as a drunken sailor in port. He talks a good talk, but can’t even walk the walk in his own daily life.
