I hate High Fructose corn syrup just as much as the artifical sweeteners.
Me too. . .I used to live on all this stuff. I'm much happier (literally, my mood has lifted) since I cut all this crap, as well as fast food (except pizza & the occasional Chinese food expierence), from my life.
I'm glad that Snapple finally switched over to sugar. It tastes so much better.

Red Bull Cola is really good. It's made with all natural ingredients, including raw sugar. (there's no actual Red Bull in it, it's just their brand name)

While sugar isn't good for you, it is processed much more easily by your body than is HFCS... this is the same as butter versus partially hydrogenated oils... the process itself makes these items identifiable to the traditional receptors the body has for processing them. Basically, stay away from processed foods.

Corn Syrup is as evil as Al-Qaeda.

NY times Yesterday.

Some research has suggested that consumption of high-fructose corn syrup, used as a sweetener in a wide variety of foods, may increase the risk of obesity and heart disease. Now, a controlled and randomized study has found that drinks sweetened with fructose led to higher blood levels of L.D.L, or "bad" cholesterol, and triglycerides in overweight test subjects, while drinks sweetened with another sugar, glucose, did not. Both L.D.L. and triglycerides have been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
still looking for that diet soda link. it was more than about weight gain, it was the stuff it does to your body. i'll find it in gmail history.
you are better off drinking coke rather than diet coke. your body can't process all those chemicals and it actually helps store more as fat. if you're cutting sugar but still putting about 50 other chemicals in your body, the DCoke isn't going down like water. It actually helps you keep the weight on. I wish that weren't true.
In my frustration with excessive gas I started to look into the cause. The problem was my gas was painful, after a day of farting I was actually sore and I had to use a special cream to kill the pain. My gas was also loud enough to wake up the neighbors, and boy did it have an awful smell, I swear even dogs ran away when I walked by them.

I started to research side effects of artificial sweeteners. I used to have Splenda every day in my coffee, and on oatmeal etc. I know a little bit about chemistry and nutrition, so when I read the ingredients in Splenda, I knew something was wrong. The first two ingredients are maltodextrin and dextrose. Those are both sugars! Guess where those sugars come from by the way, corn syrup! I believe corn syrup to be truly evil stuff, and it is is the second most dangerous food we eat with the the first being trans fats.

Anyway it turns out that maltodextrin and dextrose are used as fillers in Splenda and each packet actually has four calories not zero as claimed on the packaging.

Well I eliminated Splenda from my diet and wallah no more painful, loud and smelly gas. I'm thrilled that I don't have to worry anymore about tooting loudly in a meeting or having to roll down the windows of my car in the middle of winter.

Google Splenda and gas for more info.

YIP , i swear i just peed myself that was hilarious , but the thing that makes it even more funny is that it was almost like you were following me around all day and night,i cant stop laughing the same shit happens to me..Thanks for the info.
I would recommend trying stevia, the brand name I use is TruVia. It's a natural sweetener with no calories. It's been used for centuries in other parts of the world, but sugar lobbies stopped it from being sold in the US until recently. Just google it. You will be seeing some sodas and fruit drinks made with stevia very soon.
I have used a few different brands, and they all taste kinda the same-- strong and fake-- but I continue because it's natural. But it's also really expensive. I found stevia at Trader Joe's though, which (no surprise) is really cheap! It's about $10 but you get about 1000 servings!
