An adoption, a lost and a found

4/11/2009:

A couple tidbits of interest:

Have you seen this cat?

Signs up everywhere in town – a cat named “Daniel” has gone missing. If you’ve seen this cute kitty – call Brenda at 917-318-7811.

Would you like to adopt a dog?

“Les is a 6 year old beagle/ hound mix. She is an affectionate and sweet dog that loves to put her head in your lap and get a good belly rub. She enjoys riding in the car, going on trips and running in the park. She gets along well with children and would make a great addition to any family.

Les is about 60 lbs and would love a home where she could run and play! Les’s owner has had her since she was a puppy but, to his regret, he will no longer be able to provide Les with the attention and space she deserves. She is house trained, spayed and up to date on her shots.

Your wallet is in a safe place

Lastly – a good Samaritan found a soft yellow folding wallet on the east side of Washington Street (between 2nd & 3rd) on Thursday April 9th around 1:30pm. They promptly brought it to the Hoboken Police Headquarters on Hudson Street.

If you believe this is yours – you can thank Alexis for keeping it safe!

Have a nice day everyone!

Curious – how do you lose your cat ? Does it climb out of the window ? I feel like cats are typically in the hous eall the time as oppopsed to a dog. Anyway, best of luck finding him

Blahblahblah–The situation with Les (sorry, called her Lee before!) would appear to be different based on the dog’s age. I just quickly glanced at that old post regarding Shadow. The pup was even younger than I remembered–not even fully grown when the new baby meant a homeless dog. The owners of Shadow weren’t the brightest when it came to knowing what they could and could not handle. They were foolish–cut and pasted below as a reminder to how flippant they were about the dog they carelessly bought for their amusement only to realize ‘hey we have a kid on the way and we’re always out of town on the weekends! Time to get rid of ‘it’!’:

Shadow’s old owner: “I just want to make it clear….we love him and care for him, however, it was a hasty decision to get the dog, when we first seen him he was so cute…..not realizing the newborn and the fact that weekends in the summer we travel to south jersey…”
I think it was because the other person had the dog for less than 2 years, admitted to not thinking when they got the pup, and needed to find it a new home because of their shortsightedness/lack of caring that they had taken responsibility for a life when they really didn’t care about being in it for the long haul. This person didn’t give the reason for needing to re-home Lee, but at 6 years of age, I’m sure it wasn’t because he felt like having a dog for a year before getting sick of it. I’m sure it was a difficult reason to come to and really hope the reason for needing to re-home her is significant, and not because he wants to move into a better pad where no pets are allowed. Also, he didn’t refer to his dog as an ‘it’. Lee looks like a happy dog and I hope she finds a good home.
NAH, i think it was because a new member of the family arrived and constant medical issues arose and when checked out the new born was allergic to the pet. So I ask you, would you rather keep your pet or your new child. I think most would chose the child, then again there are idiots on here that woudl place the child in foster care in favor of their pets…Who cares if, “it” was used to describe the pet. Choice needed to be made and the RIGHT one was done.… Read more »
