About the Hoboken Elysianettes Running Society
The Elysianettes is the first running club for women based in Hoboken, NJ. The mission of the group is to create a welcoming and supportive environment for women who are already runners or who want to become runners. Beginners are encouraged to join, as HERS emphasizes training, development, and participation in local races. Experienced runners looking for challenges in distance and pace will find that as well. The group is recognized as an official team by the New York Road Runners.
HERS maintains a “No Runner Left Behind” policy, and will accommodate beginning runners to ensure they finish the courses comfortably. The group traditionally meets after each Saturday run at Hoboken’s uptown Starbucks for socializing.
Founded in September 2008 the Elysianettes has quickly grown its membership to more than 55 women from the Hoboken, Jersey City, and Union City areas.
