feild is so beutiful i cant wait to my kids get old enough.god what a change , when i played for HHS you would get tackled and you would’nt even know what you were wiping off your body..dust, rocks, glass, piss and poop !! even worse years earlier our little league practice feild was at the sewage plant on 16th street, the rats were as big as i am now. and the pack of dogs that used to live down there. it was NUTS back then..411 too bad you could’nt get your hands on old pics from back then and show the difference..
I recently had a nightmare about going to practice at the sewage plant & being chased by a pack of Dogs. It use to happen all the time we were only safe when Pupie Raia would walk with us he us to run after the Dogs & chase them, they were literally afraid of him. Rumor has it that he actually bit a Dog down there one time in a fight. (LOL)

To my mind, useful and attractive could have also meant an expansion of the park, perhaps with some help from the schools and county. That land was zoned industrial up until 1997 and could have been picked up fairly easily.

But I’m funny that way. Urban planning and all that.

I love it now that Baseball season is here and our building (robers court) gets multiple broken windows! Ever since they changed the backstop to a smaller inferior backstop this happens and the BOE won’t correct it.

Nothing new in Hoboken. Everybody is ‘on the dole’ in the city and you have to pay someone off to get anything done. At least the land was use for something useful and attractive (ie. nice architecture design)- and that condo building pays FULL taxes, NOT a tax abatement like many of the other project – ala what Mayor Roberts has been handing out.
