City Hall Shred Fest
28
March
3/28/2009:
A Hoboken411 reader noticed that some “docu-shredding” was taking place early on a this morning down at City Hall – including bank records!
Are they hiding something?
“At 8:30 this morning, a truck was parked outside City Hall on Newark Street. A fellow was tossing city documents into a shredder. Wonder what they’re getting rid of, and why so early on a Saturday morning?”

Oh wow, you know French existentialists. You sure put me in my place.
And about the topic: you’d think that City Hall would have their own in-house, industrial-sized shredder secreted away in their basement and far away from prying eyes.

I don’t really care about the topic, but enjoy the bickering… I also had the most sublime bagel in the Jeiwsh section of Le Marais many years ago.

Very beautiful neighborhood in one of the loveliest cities on earth… I have always thought that heaven for me would be a wheel of camembert, a bottle of Cotes du Rhone, a good crusty baguette, some saucisson sec and bayonne ham, a few good books, and the Seine at dusk…

Re 18, Katie: Thanks, in 2 sentences, but I might have explicated in the same format, to capture the more complex nuances, with run-on’s of “tortured prose.”
But we may still be allowed a third sentence!
Anyone care to comment on some bloggers as sanctioned, inner-circle-Mason-campaign operatives, along with possible collusion by this private, possibly not non-partisan website?
You won’t care, 411, about letting us all agree to disagree, including possibly about 411, right?

Re 20., Little Hans (ever read Freud, since you seem to like Hemingway, plus the ’50’s gravatar guy with the pipe and all?):
Perhaps for a new thread, “Everyone’s a Critic”: “Caddy smells like trees….” (The Sound and the Fury). Lots of “ten-dollar,” “big emotions from big words” there. Nice try, but that one’s about “Papa’s” insecurity, in a literary pissing-war. And IMHO, Hotchner’s best work has been as co-founder of Newman’s Own.
Care to weigh on the shredding of records and the ugly campaign season?

Re 21: Maybe you can muster a sense of humor, especially about yourself? I’m already far over myself, especially if you think I wear mom-pants….
Chalk it up, maybe, to that old Anglo-French animosity.
And re the secret shredder: Sorry, no room in the basement. Other stuff may go on there, but not document shredding.
That’s better for a no-bid contract….
But we surely can agree about your moniker neighborhood.
(Duh, that was the Sartre joke—about your French screen name.)

Municipal Court Records were being disposed of as per legal SOP’s. I was passing by and in response to my inquiry, court employees informed that this was “what was happening”.

It is indeed! Rue des Rosiers is one of my favorite streets in Le Marais and in all of Paris! It’s especially entertaining and frenetic right before Sabbath. JC, a pic nic along the Seine or atop Pont des Artes is probably the best cheap entertainment in all of Paris. Can’t wait to get back in two weeks!

I hope that voters stay on topic. This makes common sense with the direction that the city has taken. Taxes up – rents up – and still much in-descision displayed by the governing body. Look at all the candidates in the May election or your budget will continue to be shredded
Look at the independents for change.

I have reached the point that I don’t bother to read the posts of red haven anymore. What is the point. You knw the answer before he has started and it always supports the position of Mason. If you want some respect try being a little bit more impartial. One could even support her as a candidate, but be upset at certain positions. You sound like the press secretary or campaign manager of the Bush white house.
I turned you off when you decided try and justify the CT vote. From that time on I knew there wasn’t anything you could say that was useful. Had you said it sucked, but was the best move to try and get elected and get some reform done I could have bought that. You are just a shill.
