Readerpix: Double parking whammy

3/24/2009:

Here’s another typical Hoboken double parking debacle sent in by Michael:

Hoboken411 reader photo of the day – 3/24/2009

“Here’s a double park/ city offender double whammy!! Yesterday morning on 6th and Adams, the Pepsi truck was delivering to a convenience store double parked and blocked a garbage truck from passing. We waited 10 minutes for the delivery guy to move the truck while the cop, also double parked was in the store doing nothing about the incessant honking outside. When he finally did come out after the delivery truck moved, it was to chauffeur a nice little old lady.”

Unless your photo is time-sensitive – it will be published in the order it was received! I don’t know which was funnier: The Hoboken Slalom, or the Dog Crap Rebuttal! LOL! Nice work! 😈

When my brother lived in Hoboken, he had an interesting way of dealing with obnoxiously parked cars. He would take his dog out for a walk and, on the way home with a bag of crap in hand, he would leave a schmear on the windshields of offending cars. If the offense was particularly egregious, he left a little surprise under the door handle instead. Fingernail brush anyone?

What’s the law on hitting a double parked car? Can we legally rip into that double parker and then say it was his fault for parking illegally? Because I just want to rig my truck like Messala’s chariot in Ben Hur and tear some cars up! Hey if you leave it parked illegally it should be fair game! If I hit you is it my fault for trying to squeeze by? I always drive closer to the double parked car then the one that’s legally parked that’s why if you really must double park you should pull it over as much as possible, and what if a fire truck had to get by? I know if I were driving it what the outcome would be. SCRAPE, BASH, RIP emergency! 😆
Now did you feel like crap after you realized why the officer didn’t come to your rescue? Here he or she was helping, as you say an old lady but yet you post here to critic what he didn’t do, which was help you instead of that old lady, typical!!!!
what?! why should the writer feel like crap? the cop wasn’t doing his job b/c he was busy shuttling his mother all over town it sounds like when he should have addressed the double parking and at least come back for her later.
