HHS at Havard Model Congress Debate
Hoboken High School students recently participated in the annual Harvard Model Congress Debate Competition earlier this year in San Francisco.
Ten Hoboken students participated
“At the Harvard Model Congress competition, some of the sharpest students from across the country come and learn about the inner workings of the government by role playing individuals from all three branches of the US goverment and the press.
Ten Hoboken High School students portrayed members of Congress and the Presidential Cabinet and learned first-hand the difficulties of the legislative process and the art of negotiation and compromise. HHS Students not only learned a great deal from their Harvard University student advisors, but they also commented on how working with students from varied backgrounds exposed them to different ways of looking at our nation’s problems and issues.”
