Cube Smart (expanding in Hoboken)
CubeSmart (Cube Smart) expands in Hoboken. Joy?
CubeSmart (a self-storage entity) entered into Hoboken about four years ago near 11th & Grand. They’re going to build another massive facility uptown at 1312-1318 Adams Street. (Better referred to as “Adams between 13th & 14th”).
The old American Magnesium & Aluminum plant – the old lot is going from under 50% lot coverage – to nearly 100% lot coverage, thanks to a variance from Hoboken,
It’ll contain 1700 storage units (for those superficial dopes that need to keep their “stuff,”) and will be nearly 7 stories high.
When they open, they should have a block party for neighbors – with vodka shots shaped like storage units. Win – Win!
U Store It re-brands to Cube Smart in Hoboken, NJ
Apparently along with the re-branding is a whole new set of “modern” features and helpful tools to help folks with their storage and moving needs. You can read all about it on the Cube Smart Blog.
I believe that America is the world leader in Self-Storage facilities per 1,000 citizens. If we stuck to the basics, these wasteful places for people to hoard their belongings would never be necessary. How many of these places existed 50, 60 years ago?
