In the 30’s depression, guys were selling apples for a nickel on street corners.
Somehow I imagine people on here would still gripe about the apples being too expensive at a nickel each…
I’d make and sell applesauce and give tightwads the finger– no sauce for them!

Ha. I guess there are just people born to be the “devil’s advocate”?

This made me think of certain people on 411… From a review of “Born to Kvetch: Yiddish as She is Spoke” by Cory Doctorow on boingboing.net

“Of all the notions I took away from Kvetch, my favorite is the “klots-kashe,” the klutz’s question, a question that is both pointlessly stupid and incredibly derailing — the example that Wex gives is the person who, in a discussion of slavery, asks, “But is slavery always bad for slaves?” The klots-kashe has found its way firmly into online culture (it’s the scourge of message-boards), but I’d never known its name until now.”
That fat scumbag was a prick. My girl and I walked past and since I didn’t buy any of his crap, he made some kind of smartass comment.

Later while walking back that way and hear a couple people walking up the street complaining about his attitude.

I have on occasion gone back and helped someone out, and sometimes I wanna see what their made of before I dig into my pocket.
He probably has some sort of a mental disorder, so you can’t really fault him for that.

I saw him setting up the other day and was like what is he doing?? Oh and by the way he was parked too close to the crosswalk so the $55 ticket would have negated any book sales.
