Community Policing Bureau gives tips

2/28/2009:

Hoboken Police suggest common sense

As a friendly reminder, the Hoboken Police Department Community Policing Bureau walked around town today, identifying cars that are “soft targets” to petty criminals.

As a result, those cars that met any of the criteria listed on the card below received this “important public information message” on their windshields.

Luckily, my car didn’t get one, because “empty coffee cups, dust and gum wrappers” wasn’t on the list.

In Alexandria, VA the criminals look for cars that reflect the circle in the windshield mark that the protable GPS leaves. If they see that most likely the car will be broken into as they think there will be a GPS in the car hidden somehwere…just something to think about

if anybody is stupid enough to leave a gps device in full view then they deserve to get robbed,, they don’t need some cop to put to put a flyer on their car,, they need to see a shrink

Hey Joe, you must assume that our Hoboken robbers go around reading fliers on cars or read parking summonses before making their score.
