Rooftops blowing off!

2/12/2009:

Windy damage blows

Police have been notified to watch the western boundary of town between 12th and 14th streets, as a one-story attachment of the Doric Building in Union City is in jeopardy of blowing off into Hoboken.

One officer went to the scene and thinks it’s a bit too far to pose an immediate threat to anyone in town…

Other incidents around the area include some aluminum siding which blew off a building and onto a car near 3rd and Washington (in addition to a tree that’s about to topple over) – and the Newport/Pavonia NJ Transit light-rail station is closed until further notice due to wind-related damage.

No, Midnight. Just the usual storm-howls…

Hope you’re okay. That’s kinda scary.

Is anyone else hearing the same kind of noise from their office buildings?

It’s like a sailing ship, really, like the ropes are being stretched and relaxed. Over and over like swaying in the waves.

The office building where I work sounds like an old sailing (tall) ship with ropes stretching every other 5 seconds. Building is swaying a decent amount.

I wonder if those dampeners on the roof are working.

Trying to time the burrito side effects with the intervals to hide it.
