A mini Super Bowl for area zealots
This Sunday’s NFL playoff matchup between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles is sure to be a doozy!
With passionate local fans rooting for one team or the other – I’m suspecting there may be some “incidents” if things don’t go well for one particular team.
Currently, the Giants are 4 point favorites, with over/under around 40 points. I guess odds-makers think the Giants will win 21-17 or something like that.
What do you think the outcome will be against the line?

Jets fans suck in the worst possible way: the “Poor little me” kind of way.
Eagles played a great game yesterday and the Giants blew. I think it’s great they’re going on to Arizona and, honestly, I hope they go all the way. A world series and a superbowl? That’d be incredible for Philadelphia. God knows its got nothing else going for it.

bend but dont break defense,4th down stops, forcing field goal attempts forcing turnovers, opportunistic offense and of course a lil luck that was the formula to getting out of giants stadium with a win yesterday.the giants didnt win 12 games because they are lucky they are a very good football team.injuries didnt help but they would be the ist ones to say it dosent matter you have to win inspite.Off to arizona to play another white hot team shoud be interseting LETS GO BIRDS

i somehow got lucky and was offered 2 tix FREE, these things never happen to me so it was beyond awesome, my brother and i went in our eagles’ jerseys, there were a lot of eagles fans there, so many more than i expected, most giants fans were respectful and not too obnoxious, very different from enemy fans in philly, some philly fans cross a line at times, most dont, one guy in the bathroom was singing the eagles fight song and there were about 100 giants fans in there w/ him, at some pt someone finally starting shoving the guy until he ended up on the ground and got shoved some more, i wasnt about to help the guy out he was being obnoxious, one guy politely offered to pour his full beer on my head for doing no more than wearing my eagles jersey at giants stadium, gave me a death stare and i told him do what u have to do buddy, he gave me some more death stare and then walked away, after the game on our way out as we were heading down the escalator full of eagles fans singing and chanting some old lady offered to have me over so i could see what a super bowl ring looks like b/c the eagles will never get one, nice of her but when i tried to take her up on her offer she withdrew it.
other than that everyone was cool, some dudes in parking lot afterward hooked us up w/ some beers and food as we waited for our late arriving cab.
neither team looked good offensively, eagles havent clicked offensively since dallas, but they’re somehow winning games.
zona will be more of a challenge than people think. i got a flight out of philly for $300, no game ticket, yet

Eagles out played and out coached the Giants.
The Giants sure missed Osi and Plax yesterday but overall it was a good year considering all the post SB shenanigans.
Congrats Eagles
But that being said….”Fly Cardinals Fly!!!! On to Victory!”

Eli’s lack of arm strength and the ability to throw a tight spiral were on display again yesterday… he really missed that big jump ball receiver who would catch any floating duck he threw… He is a good quarterback but will never be great until he develops the ability to stick it.

there were more flags in that game than are outside the UN !
and it still did nothing to reduce the amount of face masks and late hits. the animosity on the field was almost as bad as that in the stands.
seriously though, there were some great efforts by players on both teams yesterday. but i wouldn’t include either QB with that statement. sure it was windy, but it’s always windy. oh well.
congrats to the eagles fans.

Arizona is kind of the odd team of the group. Their defense is adequate, but not adequate enough to stop Westbrook and McNabb. Warner hates hard hitting blitzing defenses and is sack prone. I have to like Philly in that game. Steelers-Ravens will be one of the nasty games of the season. The Ravens are hot, the Steelers are home, and they know each other inside out. I am hoping the intangibles will put the Steelers over the top.

I liked the headline in the Metro today “From Hero To Zero”.
Q: How long does the post-Superbowl victory afterglow last in NY?
A: One season.
