Top 3 Hoboken Students receive award
The Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars program awards top High School students in the state of New Jersey.
The criteria for this award is as follows:
- Class rank of one, two, or three in the graduating class and rank within the top 10 percent of the graduating class at the end of the junior year; or
- Class rank within the top 10 percent of the graduating class at the end of the junior year with combined critical reading and math SAT scores of 1,260 or higher at the end of the junior year.
Over 5,000 students from the state of NJ receive this award each year. Three Hoboken students met this criteria this year:

Three Hoboken Seniors Earn Bloustein Scholarship
Congratulations go to Steven Barrett, Zachary Markle, and Stephanie Vallejo, who were recently named Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars. The Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars program is administered by the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding New Jersey high school seniors based on class rank and SAT scores at the end of the junior year. The award is for $1000.00 per year, renewable for four years, for students who attend colleges in New Jersey.
