Readerpix: View from EWR
08
January
1/8/2009:
Hoboken411 reader Eieio sent in this rare view from the Newark Airport (EWR) air traffic control tower.
Hoboken411 reader photo of the day – 1/8/2009
A couple reasons this picture gets today’s entry:
- It’s from a Hoboken resident who worked on the tower as it was being built
- It’s a semi “distant” skyline picture (right arrow)
- Chances are you’ve never seen what it looks like
- And the Pulaski Skyway (left arrow) was in the news recently – as more talk of “economic stimulus” surfaces. However, since this bridge is the same construction as the one that collapsed in Minneapolis – this is money well spent!

[Stay tuned for tomorrow's Readerpix entry! - Note: one reader's photo(s) will be featured each day at approximately 11am. Unless your photo is time-sensitive - it will be published in the order it was received! Additional note: Your pictures will have a better chance of being published if they're in "landscape" mode, as opposed to the taller "portrait" modes... ]

I see we have a FAA employee here. And this is a old picture because the old tower and bldg #10 are visable in the background.

I’ve always wondered:
There’s some kind of memorial or monument garden that the RailLink monorail at EWR goes around. It’s across the access road from the brewery. It used to be well-kept, but now it’s overgrown.
Does anyone know what that’s supposed to be?
