Armed Robbery – 2nd & Harrison

1/3/2009:

While I was out walking my dog – I overheard on the Hoboken411 Live Police and Action Channel – an armed robbery over near the projects.

It sounded like it took place on 2nd and Harrison Streets – and a group of two or more black and Hispanic males robbed two people at gunpoint. Apparently $400 was stolen. Two of the men (along with the cash and gun) were apprehended downtown near the SkyClub Luxury condominium tower.

Hispanic male wearing a tan sheepskin coat is still wanted and at large.

One of the actors is known to live in Jersey City Heights (They checked the area of 9th Street Light Rail as well).

Maybe we need more funding for HoLa programs to prevent these types of crimes from happening…..

You don’t become a convicted felon when you are mistakenly apprehended for something. A felony conviction requires either a guilty plea or a jury/judge ruling you guilty at the end of a trial process. Getting picked up by the cops for something doesn’t get you an automatic felony convicition on your record.
Excellent point Matt. If people would take a minute to READ and DIGEST what’s written rather than shoot from the hip without giving thought to the actual meaning of the words they’re responding to, we’d have far less idiotic posts like nojokin’s. CONVICT=convicted for something. CONVICTS have RECORDS. Duh.
WF-That is great that “two actors were apprehended”, but what I was discussing was prevention techniques. Believe me, for those two guys that were apprehended, dozens more are getting away with crimes. No one said “have a cop on every corner.” Having beat cops in every neighborhood is more like it. Change it up and become unpredictable so the hoods never know what is coming.
The projects have the highest police presence in the town. These thugs don’t care if there is a beat cop or a mini precinct or patrol car. They are thugs for a reason and will take the chance to mug and rob. Capturing them is a great way to get them off the street for a bit.

When this starts happening outside of that area than we have a bigger problem. Cant get rid of the projects unfortunately and there thug friends from JC and Newark will come and visit. I think the police do a good job keeping it contained to that area.

I presume you’re being facetious to make a point.

If you’re not, pray you’re not mistakenly apprehended for anything. Don’t come bitching with a whiney lawsuit if you are.
