Reader Mail: Noisy East LA

12/30/2008:

Hoboken411 reader Max was a bit concerned about the noise coming from East LA this past Christmas. While using loud equipment doesn’t necessarily need a permit – the time of day which he heard it is a bit odd.

Work on Christmas Day?

“I walked my dog past East LA restaurant (6th and Washington) at 7am last Thursday (Christmas morning) and heard workmen doing construction work inside with a very loud circular saw cutting wood.

I thought it was unusual in that most of the lights were off except for the lights in the kitchen, no construction permit in the window and the fact that it was so early in the morning on a holiday. I feel bad for the people that live in or close to that building, not only do they have to listen to a loud bar until late at night, now they have to endure morning construction noise even on Christmas day.”

[411 note: I overheard at 5:55am this morning – that a Hoboken Police Officer noticed people in East LA “looking like they were doing some kind of work…” Hey – isn’t there a TIME LIMIT that they cannot start work until 8am??? The officer said they were “fixing something” on the floor – and “they check out.”]

Obviously, Max reported this cause it was the mayors bar, would he have done so if it was his friends or his favorite place to eat or drink…..probably not, once again, a minority member jumping on the old band wagon….i bet your dog shit on the floor and you didnt even pick it up….also, maybe the work was deemed emergency and had to be done…you know things like that do actually exist…

I wouldn’t go to Trinity or Farside (thanks for the update) based on the grossness at East L.A. I mean if you’re willing to have that kitchen, what’s to say the other’s aren’t as bad.

Oh and I boycott anything Davey boy owns/has any interest in.

but the operation of this business still benefits the mayor (and the rats) so we must all continue to boycott this business. we must band together in order to hurt dave roberts where he hurt the people of hoboken; in the bank account.
we must continue to boycott ANY business thaat dave roberts has ANY interest in until he and his family are bankrupt, starving, and living in the gutter. and then when we see them shivering in the street we can all spit in his face and laugh!

John Sivo. Part owner of Farside and Trinity. He used to have Eugene Flinn manage it, but even he didn’t want that stink on his hands.
i believe the mayor has leased the business to others to run. he owns the building and the license but has leased to a new operator. that may explain the renovations, but not the rats.
He did. The guy who is managing it/leasing it/whatever is the guy who owns Farside and is co-owner of one of the ones up on the water (trinity/340/quays, I can’t remember). He’s part of a father and son team on the water bar- I think their surname is Sena or something. Maybe someone with a little better memory or who actually cares about this can fill in the blanks.
