Snow and street cleaning

Do I have to move my car?
Many of you that are parked on the street might be wondering “do I have to move my car for street cleaning?”
That’s a good question – and during my years living in Hoboken, provided there’s substantial enough snow on the streets – the city normally doesn’t send out the street cleaners until it all melts away. One thing to consider is if you’re on one of the “snow emergency routes” which are Washington St. (E&W), Willow (W), 4th (S) and 13th (N).
Considering it’s going to get warmer today, and the snow will be changing to rain – this may be a “game time decision,” and you shouldn’t assume now whether or not street cleaning will or will not take place.
If I find out with certainty whether or not they’ll be cleaning the streets – I’ll let you know here.

Well apparently if you’re Frank Raia you don’t have to clear any snow off your sidewalks. Take a look his property at 8th, Adams, and Grand. Anyone else that left their sidewalks sheets of ice would be sent a violation and fined. Yet somehow he gets away with it.

It’s great that Hoboken411 provides this information by calling up the Sanitation Department to ask… Imagine if the City actually used their website for useful purposes and provided the same information?

I haven’t heard of an official update – but I highly doubt any street cleaning will take place today (except maybe the emergency routes).
There is just too much ice.
Don’t quote me on it – but I’m not moving my car – and I’m in a monday spot.

They didn’t clean the east side of Washington street so I don’t think any cleaning will be taking place today.

Oh wait… Christmas is this Thursday, so the City is celebrating it today because it’s Monday.
