Readerpix: WWII Memorial

12/8/2008:

We all know the Hoboken World War II memorial opened up with much fanfare a while back – so it’s natural that some Reader Pix would follow! Below is a great perspective shot that Josh took:

[Stay tuned for tomorrow’s Readerpix entry! – Note: one reader’s photo(s) will be featured each day at approximately 11am. Unless your photo is time-sensitive – it will be published in the order it was received! Additional note: Your pictures will have a better chance of being published if they’re in “landscape” mode, as opposed to the taller “portrait” modes… ]

That’s a great shot. I didn’t know until I saw the memorial that 3 sets of brothers from Hoboken died including the 3 Wallace brothers for whom the Wallace School is named.

Here is a link to several photos of the memorial: http://inourtime.smugmug.com/gallery/6510080_GJRFL/1/413600173_gu3zY

Regarding the mentioning of the camera used…It’s the vision, not the machine. Don’t get hung up on the equipment, and learn the craft.

Unfortunately, the skateboarders decided to use this area to do tricks. Now they will have to put a fence up to protect it from damage.

This picture is prettier than the memorial IRL. Very nice!
