Boys & Girls Toy Drive
In case you’re looking for a place to donate some holiday cheer:
Boys and Girls Club seeking donations
The Boys and Girls Club of Hoboken would greatly appreciate toy donations for their Holiday Season. The Club provides recreation, hot meals, and guidance primarily for disadvantaged children. There are 140 children active in the program.
The director, Seouvan Rodriguez said that she registered with the U.S. Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” Foundation to provide presents for the children in the Club. She traveled all the way to Rockaway, NJ to pick up the Club’s yearly share, only to come back empty-handed. Historically, the Club was allocated 117 toys. They simply ran out. She is rescheduled for another appointment next week, so she’ll go out there and try again.
They need your help to ensure the children receive a gift this year. Please open your heart and stop by to drop off a new, unwrapped toy to The Boys and Girls Club at 123 Jefferson Street – the Jerry Molloy Youth Center. The children will be celebrating their Christmas party on Monday, December 22 where the toys will be distributed.
The Boys & Girls Club mission is to be more than a place, but a “movement” to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
