Another assault in the projects

12/7/2008:

Another night in the neighborhood

About 10 minutes in the past (around 4:25am) – many residents called in an active assault taking place at 5th and Jackson Streets. (as overheard on the Hoboken411 Live Police and Fire action channel)

A Police officer responding to the scene (with a sense of urgency in his voice) immediately requested an ambulance to come.

What are those asterisks?

(*) I didn’t mention it on 411 last week, but on November 28th, a Jersey City resident, Carlos Torres, 20, – was beaten and robbed and left for dead at the corner of 4th and Harrison. He later died from blunt force trauma to the head. Police caught the murder suspect Hakeem Torres, 19 (no relation). Others were arrested as part of the robbery as well.

(**) The “luxury” Julianna rental condominums are here (formerly the Velocity Condos for sale).

When will Police step up the FOOT PATROLS in this area 24/7?
Say what you want about the b&r’s,the 60’s and 70’s versions, not these cardboard wannabe creeps that live still live at home with mommy. The dirt bags in the projects were handled along with the drunken frat boys fron stevens with one simple understanding” don’t even think about f***ing” with anyone out of your area. The project shits rarely ventured past monroe st. and the frat boys never crossed washington st. If they dared they wwere dealt with in a manner that they would not forget. There were very few problems.
Is this like the Greasers and Socs?
I wonder how many criminals live throughout Hoboken, Corporate Heads, Lawyers, Politicians, Tax Collectors? Criminals come in all different shapes and sizes and live everywhere. Lets just knock down the whole damn town!
Violent criminals are the ones to worry about. It’s a hard knock life.

Added note: 3rd & 4th Wards, the King/Queen makers are ‘West of Willow’ 💡
