Turkey Day Poll: When are you off?

11/25/2008:

Ran a quick poll yesterday to gauge how residents are traveling this Thanksgiving. 44% of you are leaving town for an extended period of time, 18% are staying put – and the rest of you are taking a day trip for Thanksgiving dinner, then returning to a nice, quiet Hoboken with plenty of parking! Whoo hoo!

Wednesday early dismissal?

Most of the jobs I’ve held, we got some kind of half-day the Wednesday before Turkey Day. What about you guys?

My husband has the flu. So we’re staying home until he’s well again.

While we’ll miss celebrating with our families, it’s not so bad– we had soup and watched TV and stuff, making the most of everything with jokes and fun. And this weekend, we’ll be sure to make up for the lack of partying!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!! 😀

I get out at 2 but thinking about heading to the DC area tomorrow at like 8 am instead of fighting 5-6 hours of traffic today…any thoughts on that? With no traffic I can make it in 3.5-4 hours

no it doesn’t work that way we don’t have anything to set the temp we have a breaker we switch on and the heat goes on. The level of heat depends on the individual car[/quote]

Can’t you guys just eave the breakers off until it’s like 20 degrees outside?

People aren’t going to freeze, they’re already bundled up after all. With all the people on the trains they’ll warm up quickly.
