About Heather Greene
One of the preeminent female Scotch tasting experts in North America, Heather Greene has earned the respect of everyone she meets with her boundless energy and passion for all things Scottish and single malts in particular.
Greene began her career at the Scotch Malt Whisky Society in Edinburgh. There she learned the art and science of distilling from the world’s best master distillers. After tasting practically every working distiller (she can’t think of one she hasn’t) and hundreds of vintages, Greene developed a strong nose and palate. As a result, she was invited to join a well-known and respectable tasting panel of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society; there she used her acute senses to help decide which casks would be bottled for sale. During her tenure in Scotland, Greene’s appreciation and respect for single malt scotch deepened.
Greene’s career is certainly growing; she has led Scotch whisky tastings, both informing and entertaining consumers who enjoy Scotch and those in the trade who make and sell fine single malts. Greene has been featured in several media outlets, including “BBC,” WFUV New York, Washington Post, and Scotland on Sunday, to name a few.
She recently joined the William Grant & Sons Ltd family business and her Scottish roots make her the perfect ambassador, bringing tradition, experience, history and integrity to the Glenfiddich brand.
Green is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts. She studied Political Economics. In addition to her work as an educator and ambassador, Heather is a well-known and world-toured musician.

After (or before) you go for your free whiskey, visit Cynthia behind the bar at East LA for a half priced MARGARITA!!! Tell her that Hoboken411 sent you!!! If you haven’t already tried some of their awesome margaritas, I opt for the strawberry/coconut that she turned me onto. There’s plenty of other frozen flavors that will warm you up… Have fun, and drink responsibly!

Margaritas before or after Whisky? Are you trying to kill us ir just make us sick?
Drinking an EastLA margarita before participating in a whisky tasting defeats the purpose of the tasting, unless all you are interested in is getting stupid.
Fine whiskys are to be savored, not used as a chaser.

Not a Glenfiddich gal here.
This posting frenzy is currently fueled by Irish Mist liqueur from the hole-in-the-wall liquor store on 7th & Park.

Ah! I know Garden Wine & Liquor well (why it’s on Park Ave but called “Garden” is a mystery to me..)
Phil is always able to recommend some interesting wine that’s just come in. I used to live across the street. Great liquor and service, although at this time of year the endless loop of “Dominick The Italian Christmas donkey” would drive us insane.
