Hobokenpix: Welcome!

[Continuing the Hoboken411 “Photo of the Day” series…]

Hoboken Photo of the Day – 11/17/2008

I happen to like this “Welcome to Hoboken” sign along the railroad tressel – but I wonder what visitors think when the drive over the foot-deep potholes, get stuck in traffic, drive around for hours looking for parking and hit pedestrians?

Being a resident for so long – I’m just curious what “outsiders” think of our fair city when they visit these days. What is the “buzz” about Hoboken to them? The bars? The single-scene? The stunning intellectual people they meet? What are other NJ cities like in comparison? Are they that boring?

Gosh – I gotta explore the rest of the state more to check it out for myself.

… And then there’s Princeton. That’s a fun place with nice, old architecture.

Well, no– I take some of that back.

Actually, Princeton is a fun place depending on who you go with. But the fun also depends on whether or not a white-haired woman randomly spews a string of loud curse words at you… just after you’ve enjoyed a be-e-e-autiful f*ck’n day with friends!

(Not that that happened to me or anything.)

There are no potholes that they’re aware of on their side over there.

Ya strand “there side” half way though, it splits with jersey city. “Tracks” look up next time you go underneath.
