Elks opens doors to needy on Thanksgiving

For the first time ever, the Hoboken Elks Lodge No. 74 (1005 Washington Street) will be serving food to those in need on Thursday, November 27th from 12-4pm.

Hoboken resident Tom Foley is organizing the event. Foley, who is an Elks Club member, said that after discussing this idea with other members for years, is finally making it happen. They’re going out of their way, providing a full spread of food and drink, and will have the Titans/Lions NFL game on for everyone to watch.

If you’d like to find out more about the event – or have a food item you’d like to donate- contact Tom at 201-222-8507.

Way to go, Tom!

I just stopped by The Elks and WOW!! They have such a nice spread! It turns out there were some friends of mine there who decided to pass on traveling to their in-law’s. haha

There’s quite a few 30-somethings there having a great time. I had to leave to get over to my brothers house. Next year I’m going to get a group together and enjoy a meal at the Elks.

One group brought their own centerpiece. Funny. They made it their own little Thanksgiving family table.

Right on Elks :!:However, is the resident the house chairman of the Elks Lodge (as I believe) or Tom Foley, former candidate for ward councilperson?
