New Lifestyle Boutique in Hoboken: Town House 620
A lifestyle boutique recently opened in Hoboken, carrying designer and vintage revival ladies apparel, fashion accessories including handbags and jewelry, home accessories and furniture.

Owner Kristin Brandt was a home accessories design manager for big box retailers including Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Crate and Barrel and Bed Bath and Beyond prior to going into business for herself. “I always tried to find a way to turn my interests into profitable hobbies. As a design manager, I spent my spare time making and selling my own line of jewelry (LeJeune Beads and Mode Accessories - which will be carried in the store) to local boutiques, girls night events and occasional art festivals,” said Kristin.
She finally became successful enough on the side to leave her design management position last year, and spent the past year touring the East Coast with her business partner, Lutchi Gayot (and significant other) selling Mode Accessories at Shecky’s Girls Night Out Events. Kristin added “After reaching our sales goal in the first 6 months, we knew that we needed to open a store and this was the next logical step for us.”
“I love design and beautiful things for home, apparel and accessories. I also love thrift stores and estate sales. I wanted to create a space where I could combine my love of all things beautiful, new and vintage, no matter the price. I understand there are days when a woman wants to spoil herself with a decadent designer item, and there are also days when a trendy deal is her cup of tea. I wanted to open a place where you can come in and find something beautiful, whether it is a classic riding coat to add to your wadrobe staples, a vintage piece of furniture that you fall in love with, or the cute blouse for your date on Thursday that is right on trend.”
When asked how all this started, Kristin said “I grew up in a very rural, small town in Pennsylvania. My mother and great aunt would drag my sister and I out every weekend into thrift stores and flea markets before shopping at these places was the cool thing to do. I guess my thrifty creativity started out of necessity and now it’s has turned into Town House 620.“
She later added that she’s not alone in this business venture, “My partner is also a musician and we plan on supporting local artists in the community with live music nights and artist of the week events. We were lucky enough to find a larger space that will us allow do this.”
For more information, please stop into the store at 620 Washington Street. They’re open 7 days a week from 11 am to 9pm.
Additionally, Town House 620 will be hosting Holiday House Warming event Thursday, December 4th, 2008. Be sure to swing by and say hello!

If biff wants classier undies– you know, soft and silky to the touch and stuff– Jos. A. Bank on 2nd and River is a good choice!

Rite Aid sells the Tidy Whities. You can probably get some el cheapo underwear at CVS, too, and the supermarkets. Personally, I’d rather take the PATH to 33rd street and go to Macy*s.
