“On behalf of the Jersey City Capitals Youth Hockey organization, I just wanted to let all your readers know about our family oriented club, located just a mile or so from Hoboken at Pershing Field in Jersey City Heights. Dozens of Hoboken residents are involved with the Capitals as players, coaches, and referees. The Capitals field teams comprised of kids aged six through Middle School, that compete in the New Jersey Youth Hockey League against teams from surrounding communities. We would like to invite everyone to come up to see our games, which are played Saturday and Sunday mornings from 8:00 am until 11:00 am at Pershing. For a copy of our schedule and times for the individual teams check out WWW.JCCAPS.COM,
The Capitals also run a Learn to Skate Clinic from November 15th through February 14th on Saturday and Sunday mornings. This is where my two sons first learned to skate at age 4. I can say without a doubt that it is one of the great values in youth sports in the area. It is run by coaches from the Capitals, as well as players from nearby High Schools like St. Peter’s Prep. The cost is $225 (no, that isn’t a misprint). Additional information can be found on our website.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact one of the Capitals board members at the numbers found on the website. As an aside, Pershing is also home to an adult group that plays on Tuesday and Thursday evenings called the Ripblades.
Thanks in advance, and I hope to see everyone at the rink this winter!”
