Stop the doomsday scenario, we HOBOKEN survived the sixties when there was nothing here but no jobs and rotten piers!
We then went through the seventies when they tried burning us in our beds, and the eighties and nineties and now the zeros..we survived, and made do through recessions, wars and depressions, and we will. We need hope and to help each other, not doomsday reports,
and scare tactics. This is still the best country in the world. God Bless America…

freecreditreport.ORG is the real free/no catch site for getting your annual credit reports. freecreditreport.com commercials are amongst the most annoying ever devised.
DO NOT DO FREECREDITREPORT.COM, the shit will stress you out beyond belief and constantly remind you of your shitty situation. (Been there done that….) You are better off applying to finance a Ferrari, being denied, and then asking why…

Everytime you contact one of these shit agency’s your score goes down the tubes. Do not trust them… Again, best best is when you are denied going through the bank who denied you and NEVER pay extra for a credit report.
I agree that freecreditreport.com sucks. You can get your reports/scores for free, but you have to sign up for their subscription service and if you don’t cancel it within 30 days, you get charged like $75. Not to mention the format of their reports stinks and often misses some data.

However, your credit score does NOT go down when you obtain your own report. This is known as a soft inquiry. Your score does go down if you apply for a bunch of cards/loans at once. So basically, if someone is accessing your report as a result of you applying for credit and this happens too often, then your score goes down.

http://www.annualcreditreport.com is where you can actually get a free report from all three bureaus once a year. The site is setup by the 3 bureaus to comply with the recent law that required them to provide these. They do charge to see your credit scores, usually about $6.

I like “down the tubes”. Very Carlin-esque.

And, oh yeah. Don’t do FreeCreditReport.com like potatochip says– it is only one of the many dipsh*t companies out there.
