Truglio’s Meat Market is currently in this location.

Hoboken411 reader photos of the day – 10/21/2008

Here’s some pictures of Quality Delicatessen located at 1000 Park avenue long before it became Trugillios meat market. Thats Fred the owner in the picture and I believe thats his wife pictured with him. Plenty of parking back then! haha! Do you remember Hoffman soda? Their commercial was (“The prettiest girl I ever saw was sipping Hoffman right through a straw”).
I remember Fred. Truglios, we called it Al’s, was behind Freds. His sons took over, and across the Street where the Bar is use to be a Veggie Market and Muser was in the middle of the Block.

It was a great neighborhood. Good Food & People.
Ralphs was the veggie store and you forgot to mention The Uptown Cafe or bucket of blood as it was called also accross the street from Ralphs market was the old Hoboken House. Great neighborhood back then! 8)

The Hoffman song was sung to the tune of “the littlest worm I ever saw, was stuck inside my soda straw.”
