10/10/2008:

A Hoboken411 reader sent some pics in about a nice illegally parked Jaguar at the bus stop on 12th and Washington:

Re 9: Gracious effort, “e.t.”

Since he’s not with the OEM, etc., can’t imagine the recent catastrophes s/b in his direct sphere, beyond what might wind up on his City Hall desk, to process there. There…in his office.

Following your premise, perhaps a lunch w/Michael Barry, to assess multiple Applied Companies’ conflagrations & “damage- control”?

And maybe around special status, courtesy of Applied, at “The W.” ?

Just a thought….?

Well, he’s near 2 places that had fires in 2008 and there are a lot of resulting homeless and displaced, so it’s quite possible he’s not just picking up lunch.

However, it was a real bad parking job. If he didn’t steal it, I don’t care if he drives a Rolls Royce; just don’t park a non-emergency vehicle in the middle of a bus stop *and* too close to the corner at the same time!

Re 7.: Agreed. Where parked, not what’s parked, more important here.

That relates to 6.: Consider the old “Is Your Volkswagen a Sex Symbol?” theme.

I might be curious about what “official business” HS Director Pope was transacting around 12th & Washington, necessitating parking illegally…?

I’m just amazed at WHERE this guy parked. Unless he parked it there much earlier and all of the other space was taken, wouldn’t you at least park at the end of the bus stop, and not dead smack in the middle?

Funny how in this town the idea of a public official driving a luxury sedan doesn’t even raise our eyebrows anymore. This guy certainly acts like he’s handsomely paid – from the public purse.

The message to the taxpayers in these all-too-common situations seems to be: “I gots mine, b1tches!”
