Do you have a 3-day weekend?

10/10/2008:

Columbus Day is one of those weird “some, but not all have off” type holidays. Banks and some other companies give their employees off – but not all.

There is no street cleaning. You can confirm this by calling: 201-420-2385
Does this mean no ticketing either? Visitor passes are now $5, so if they’re not enforcing it, I’d rather save it for another time
they raised it from 3 to 5? nice jump. ugh.
I have a whole bunch that expire at the end of the year. I wonder if I can sell them back for $5.

The Financial Industry has never given Columbus Day off (at least not in the past 13 years that I have worked there). You need to be Jewish in order to claim the “bonus” days off and not claim them as vacation.

I work for The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. We are not considered the private sector.
