There’s an article on CNN which wonders what would happen if the Democrats gained enough seats to get the “Magic 60″ in the Senate which would mean that their party could pass any legislation they wanted to where that 60 majority would kill any filibuster attempt by the opposing party.

What would happen?

You will see above that I don’t agree with the hiring practices at big law firms. I did accurately describe what reality is in terms of hiring at these firms. The ad hominem attack was unwarranted and unneccessary.

i’m just giving my experiences from what a friend told me, and since i’m an inquisitive person, i’m looking for your input on it. we started off talking about the value of those degrees though….i never intended it to be a discussion of the value of them at law firms since I don’t know that much about it other than what i see my friends experiencing when they first graduated. oh well. who thought that offering opinions on a message board was a bad thing.

yeah. i think it’s certainly true in your profession. and maybe rightfully so. i’m not going to pretend to know enough about the culture of your workplaces or the value of some schools vs others. i just know what friends tell me. my buddy from rutgers law might never get to work at some firms. but that doesn’t mean he won’t be as successful right? he might not “look” as successful at least.
