What happens if Democrats control both the Presidency, Senate, and House?

There's an article on CNN which wonders what would happen if the Democrats gained enough seats to get the "Magic 60" in the Senate which would mean that their party could pass any legislation they wanted to where that 60 majority would kill any filibuster attempt by the opposing party.

What would happen?

seriously LD. a siren was just telling it like it is. if that's how the hiring practices at big firms work, that doesn't make siren the elitest. in fact, i think it was one of siren's posts that said she didn't think she'd get hired at her old firm, and was kinda lucky back when she did. in fact, her posts on this thread have been the opposite of elitists, as she also commented on she thinks firms would be better served by hiring top people from some lower ranked schools rather than the "privileged" kids from the higher tier schools.

the unwarranted attacks on this site are so tiring.

Wow, what a classy post. You're kind of an elitist, huh Siren? By your post and by your user name I can tell you've got quite an ego.

Maybe instead of Siren you should consider another mythologically based name; A_Harpie.
You will see above that I don't agree with the hiring practices at big law firms. I did accurately describe what reality is in terms of hiring at these firms. The ad hominem attack was unwarranted and unneccessary.

Actually, truth be told it is frustrating to read about someone's 2nd or 3rd hand knowledge about the industry that I'm not only a part of, but actually involved with the hiring in. Whatever. This discussion is a dead horse. Sometimes people get lucky for whatever reason, but 99.9% of the time if you're not from xyz school you're not working at BigLaw.
i'm just giving my experiences from what a friend told me, and since i'm an inquisitive person, i'm looking for your input on it. we started off talking about the value of those degrees though....i never intended it to be a discussion of the value of them at law firms since I don't know that much about it other than what i see my friends experiencing when they first graduated. oh well. who thought that offering opinions on a message board was a bad thing.

yeah. i think it's certainly true in your profession. and maybe rightfully so. i'm not going to pretend to know enough about the culture of your workplaces or the value of some schools vs others. i just know what friends tell me. my buddy from rutgers law might never get to work at some firms. but that doesn't mean he won't be as successful right? he might not "look" as successful at least.

Why must you answer EVERY comment with your life story, or your mom's dad's sister's husbands's mother, and the rest of your family life story? If you aren't "pretending" to know what goes on in the world of big law firms then why do you feel compelled to answer? You turn very interesting readable thread into difficult to follow undreadable thread! Please. Control yourself. Thank god you "forgot about hoboken411" during the debate live thread and decided to bore your friendsd to death - because that was actually entertaining to read through without getting completely sidetracked.
