Back home, a lot of secondary streets would prohibit trucks over a certain weight when they became popular cut throughs for trucks. I can’t see any reason why the city’s streets should be torn up for trucks cutting over to the tunnels and the semis making deliveries are pretty nuts too (saw one from the food wholesaler at Clinton/8th take out someone’e new Civic trying to make a ridiculously angled turn).

The Zoning Board is not going to hold up a single applicant to study a pre-existing condition the applicant had nothing to do with. The applicant’s responsibility stops at doing a traffic study that outlines the impact of their own development on traffic, not coming up with a grand study of the impact of other development on traffic! The applicant cannot be held responsible for existing conditions.

Somebody needs to introduce Ms. Zimmer to the NJ Municipal Land Use Law. She should get a better handle on the way our governmental system works before she sends people from the SkyClub on a wild goose chase.

I think her point is that she wants to encourage public comment regarding the existing amount of traffic and how any increase would exacerbate the situation. The Zoning Board can condition their approval on a traffic study or some other form of mitigation…

The fact that it’s tied into a railroad crossing complicates the issue. Railroads, by federal law, have preemption when it comes to issues like this.

What I heard about the CST meeting sounds more like Beth and Mikey are going to be one voting block if she runs for mayor. That’s what’s icky icky poo to me.

My heroes include Winston Churchill and Abraham Lincoln, among others. I regard Ms. Mason highly among people in political office in this town, but she is not a hero yet.

Dawn Zimmer was well aware of Beth Mason’s intention to run before she announced her candidacy. This is not in dispute, and nothing Ms. Zimmer does or does not do would change Ms. Mason’s mind. Anything beyond that is a little Lenzian mind game that isn’t fooling anyone.

Put clearly, a vote for Zimmer IS a vote for Cammarano, since Zimmer’s entry into the race is specifically designed to force Mason into a runoff with Cammarano. At that point the HCDO wil throw a ton of money into the race to depress voter turnout, sell newcomers on the line that Cammarano is just like them, and make things very difficult.

Zimmer is on a mission launched by her HCDO-connected pals Lenz and Marsh to force Mason into a runoff she would not have without Zimmer in the race.

My understanding is Beth had a meeting with concerned Church Towers residents that had nothing to do with Mike Russo.

YOUR candidate on the other hand was the last to make a deal with Mike Russo in a key council vote to name a new HHA commissioner. Is Dawn Zimmer’s deal with Mike Russo to remove Angel Alicea also “really icky icky poo” or are you just a selective slimer?
