Obama’s Mama

9/20/2008:

No, not a new bar coming to Hoboken, but a video about what Harlem Pastor James David Manning has to say about recent “negative” news about Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter – and exactly how Barack Obama was born.

Quite entertaining, actually.
anyone catch the paulson/bernanke testimony on the details of this $700 billion bail out? this is insane. they are really trying to sell the idea of paying these banks par for bonds that aren’t bid 50…and the taxpayers are going to pay for this? this is mind blowing! they are really selling this to congress, while asking for $700billion, after they just put taxpayers on the hook for ALL of fnma/freddie debt! i can’t believe i’m watching this. this is a bad bad idea.
You might just get your wish as they’re delaying this as long as possible and stretching it to the end of week.

re: 120

Strand….how does that create liquidity? If banks just hold assets as HTM than you just prevent further losses. Btw, htm doesn’t mean they are buying at par. any other good ideas?
That is cool journey. I think I look about my age. Every now and then I’ll get carded at the liquor store, but I think that’s because you’re supposed to look 27 for them to stop carding you. And I found my first gray hair – a TRAVESTY – about 3 weeks ago.
I’ve been going gray for 10 years, me, my best friend and husband are the only ones that know. Being blond means that when my hair turns gray/(more often white) it just blends in. The thing I like about my gray hair is that it is wavy not neurotically straight, so a few years back my mom asked if I was curling perming my hair, I smiled and just said the gray hairs aren’t straight.

My poor younger brother has been mistaken for my twin for years, and was mistaken for a college student when he was a high school freshman (though in college he liked it, as it meant he didn’t get carded when he should have been).

easy and irish are the same age . . . I am shocked. I don’t feel nearly as old as I did this morning.
Here’s a gift, My first was George H. W. Bush vs. Michael Dukakis.

I was more attentive to the next one because I was taking a class call (if I can remember…) Media and Politics. We covered not just the current race and how the media covered it but the history of print, radio, and tv coverage of elections. (Sort of scary stuff at times…)
holy cow, bush sr vs dukakis?! now you’re showing your age.

I took a similar class it sounds like, albeit 4 years later, where we read “Feeding Frenzy” by Larry Sabato; it was one of the best classes I took and the book was great.
