Corzine hangs out at festival

9/8/2008:

Our neighbor, and NJ Governor Jon Corzine paid a visit to the Hoboken Italian Festival yesterday.

While the MC on stage announced Corzine’s appearance as a “surprise,” but many folks knew this PR opportunity was planned days in advance and expected it.

Corzine got some puzzled looks when he greeted the “Hobokeners” in the audience. I’m sure 99% of you have heard and use the phrase “Hobokenites,” not “Hobokeners.” I guess Corzine doesn’t get it?

Regardless, Corzine’s approval ratings are in the crapper lately, which probably explains why he needs all the goodwill he can get these days.

why should NJTP and GSP users fund improvements for a rail tunnel??! does that make any sense?!

this guy is a certified a-hole, that’s for sure. he fits in well in Hoboken with all the inept, ineffectual leaders.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority voted Friday to raise tolls on the turnpike and Garden State Parkway to finance transportation projects that include the widening of both highways and a second rail tunnel into Manhattan.[/quote]

At least this toll increase is only going to fund transportation improvements, not for some bonding scheme like before.

CORZINE YOU STUPID SACK OF SH*T. You brilliant financial background comes up with the idea to raise our taxes !? genius. you are garbage. nobody wants you in hoboken in your cushy condo. in fact, it would be nice if you just went back to illinois because you certainly aren’t a New Jerseyan. Does anyone know what his apartment number is? I’d like to personally kick him in the testicles.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority voted Friday to raise tolls on the turnpike and Garden State Parkway to finance transportation projects that include the widening of both highways and a second rail tunnel into Manhattan.

The authority unanimously approved the increases after state Transportation Commissioner Kris Kolluri said Gov. Jon Corzine had approved them prior to Friday’s meeting in Woodbridge. The increases will take effect in December.
