Hothem Enterprises SUCKS. The guy is a slumlord. The pipes freeze and burst every time it gets cold, it’s never warm enough in the apartments, and every “fix” they make is half-ass and stopgap. Their solution for everything is just to caulk it.

Do not ever live in a Hothem Enterprises building.

Similar experience with Hothem:

1) Had to sue for security deposit
2) Ceiling leaked THREE times, so yes to the half-ass fixes are normal with them
3) Refused to address boiler issues citing that it was the water company’s problem… which is completely untrue. Only fixed it after nearly a week with no hot water
4) Impossible to get in touch with (have to leave a message, then MAYBE get a call a week later from people in Ohio on a blocked number)
5) Carbon monoxide leaks
6) Refuse to address the fact that the oven doesn’t work properly and only 1 burner lights

That’s all I remember, but I strongly recommend against living under Hothem. Yes, it’s usually slightly cheaper than a comparable building, but you get even less than what you pay for with them

Hothem really sucks :

1. Maintenance staff is very rude.
2. Heating and cooling system fails all times.
3. Need to wait for a day to get fixed if there is any water problems any staff is too rude.
4. Wont remove trash.[quote comment=”180362″]Similar experience with Hothem:1) Had to sue for security deposit 2) Ceiling leaked THREE times, so yes to the half-ass fixes are normal with them 3) Refused to address boiler issues citing that it was the water company’s problem… which is completely untrue.
