   it’s just funny how small the world is sometimes. yesterday I was leaving work and in the lobby of our building, I walked past a kid that went to my highschool and graduated with my wife. we’ve both worked in the same building for 4 yrs. it’s just funny sometimes how you connect with some people, and complete strangers sometimes like irish and 333River.

   Yeah, that phrase doesn’t come off well in this case, but if McCain were 42 and not 72 would it carry so much of a double meaning??

   In all seriousness, I’d like to see someone explain this. It’s like if I were interviewing for an executive job at some company in Manhattan, would I get away with just saying it isn’t about me or lack of experience, but about the consumers and they don’t get it. How does this go to rationalizing that I’m the right one for the job? It’s a real question. Just hope someone can explain what Obama meant by that since I obviously don’t get it - like he said.

   Aside from skin color, Obama is the sterotypical DC style candidate. He is a lawyer and he went to an Ivy League school. He fits so well in w/ the DC crowd it isn’t even funny. I bet he even knows the secret handshake. He absolutely fits the typical pedigree, he just doesn’t LOOK like he fits the typical pedigree.

   he is going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans, yet he is going to institute universal health care. now it just boggles my mind how people can be so dumb as to not realize the mutual exclusivity of those two things.

   remember, it doesn’t get reported by MSDNC, but Obama announced his run for Senator at the home of a terrorist who set off an explosive at the U.S. Capitol. Bill Ayers (sp). but that’s no big deal.

   Whatever his past, Ayers is now a respected member of the Chicago intelligentsia, and still a member of the Woods Fund Board. The president of the Woods Fund, Deborah Harrington, said he had been selected for the board because of his solid academic credentials and “passion for social justice.”

   “This whole connection is a stretch,” Harrington told me. “Barack was very well known in Chicago, and a highly respected legislator. It would be difficult to find people round here who never volunteered or contributed money to one of his campaigns.”
