McCain’s Nightmare
27
August
8/27/2008:
Based on the negative reports for both Presidential candidates, you might think to yourself “are these the only two choices we have?”
Barack Obama has had quite a few entries here on Hoboken411 lately, so let’s see the what people have to say about John McCain:
McCain’s YouTube Problem Just Became a Nightmare
When you see these candidates getting caught in lies, flip-flopping on issues or just plainly looking stupid, how does that make you feel?
How can you support either of the candidates with honest, sincere conviction?
Has it just boiled down to the “lesser of two evils?” Or are all these negative videos and reports just “political spin” that needs quite a bit of research to get to the bottom of the truth?

Agreed. If McCain had picked Romney, I’d have voted McCain. This pick has made both candidates unpalatable, and away I go to the libertarian candidate - hopefully enough ppl will follow to get that party federal funds in the next election cycle.
RIDICULOUS.

And Perot gives the win to Clinton 1992. Well done.

Believe me, that is on my mind, it really is. But I cannot in good conscience put a 72 yr old man in office with a conservative woman who stands for a lot of the same ideals that I dislike about Bush. If McCain were 60, I’d be less upset. 72, he could die!! I don’t want another minute of conservatives in office after January of this year. EVER.

i gotta say that Katie makes a great point here. Midnight, it’s thoughts like that that prevent people from voting what they believe in and settling for a candidate because it’s somewhat closer than his main “opponent”. but I would love to see libertarians and green party gain some more respect in the elections.

I don’t know where to post this, but it’s breaking news from Poland’s news sources. Russia has issued a direct warning to Poland and Germany - that on Monday, Russia would punish Poland and German with a military response.
Lukoil is Russia’s largest oil company who has told workers that no one is to go anywhere beginning this weekend. Then people in Russia are being told not to leave the country.
Sanctions are to come against Russia cutting off business with them and the E.U. as well as other nations.
(I don’t know if this is going to happen, just reporting the news from foreign news sources)

i’m quite surprised honestly. this would be like if my father (he’s mayor of our tiny town), ran for PA governor and somehow won (i don’t know how she got there, i’m sure she deserved it - but it’s quite a jump), and then got picked to be VP. i love my dad, but he’d be a terrible VP.

elections? plural? mayor of a small town and governor? i guess so. i’d say election(s) though…

So why not use this year as a starting point and commit to helping the Libertarian party (or other party of your choice) build their level of influence so that..who knows..maybe 4 years from now - after Obama or McCain have screwed us sideways - we might have some better alternatives to the same ol’ same ol’. What do you think?

they actually were interviewing a guy running for rep in alaska on the radio the other day and they spoke about it. they say she had other reasons to have the trooper fired, but it’s currently a scandal, as labeled by the alaskan media.
i’m sure we’ll learn a lot about it over the next week or so though.
also, i cannot believe the guy from the Obama campaign is saying that palin is “a heartbeat away” from the presidency. that is just disgustingly distasteful (though somewhat true).

Hey guys, every election whenever the VP is chosen (including a week ago when Obama picked Biden) they say the heartbeat line. Literally, the VP is ALWAYS a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Oh boy, here comes the announcement. Yippie skippy.

they actually fired the director, as i understand it, because he didn’t want to fire the trooper. it was said that there were other reasons, and that the troopers actions were just part of why they didn’t think he had the proper character to be a trooper. that’s what i gathered on the radio the other day when they interviewed a guy running for congress that was in her office (i forget what position)

i think with the grassroots campaigning that people can organize, there has been no better time to do that if you chose to. it’s very easy to get people together these days with the internet and technology.

Alright, so this is what happened. The EU was about to create economic sanctions against Russia. Russia had already warned Poland and other countries of a military response to various issues. As the EU was preparing sanctions, Russia threatened Poland and Germany that it would cut or dramatically reduce its oil through the northern and southern streams to them and cut their oil to Europe. This has gotten the EU to weaken and state that they will now delay the sanctions a bit. Lots going on.
Russia is already planning to cut oil to these countries on Monday, September 1. Situation forming with Lukoil and retention of its workers locally in case of emergency.
It’s all developing. If I hear more, I’ll post. But I’m leaving work for the day. Stay tuned.
